Chicago Flying WILD Training Partners
Flying WILD is an exciting education program that provides interactive, interdisciplinary, standards-based activities to engage students in real-world learning that helps them understand the importance of migratory birds and their conservation
Topics ranging from basic bird biology, identification and ecology, to bird conservation service learning activities such as bird festivals and monitoring projects promote greater environmental stewardship
Illinois Audubon Society and the Environmental Education Association of Illinois are working together to bring Flying WILD workshops to your area.
Developed by the Council for Environmental Education under the guidance of a large number of environmental education professionals and wildlife conservation organizations, Flying WILD activities have been field tested in classrooms across the nation.
A Flying WILD Educator Workshop is a three hour training session presented by a Flying WILD facilitator. The workshops will:
- Introduce educators to Flying WILD materials and concepts.
- Demonstrate how educators from all disciplines can incorporate Flying WILD activities into their curricula to help meet the needs of their educational goals and objectives.
- Provide a sampling of teaching strategies and at least three Flying WILD activities.
