Please contact Vern Kleen via email to get on his list of helpers. July 22 (Sunday) -- Lois White's (Fulton County) (2:00 to 5:30 p.m.) Fulton County Hummingbird Haven. Located on the blacktop about 4 miles south of Smithfield and 5 miles north of Ipava. July 29 (Sunday)-- Sugar Grove (Funk's Grove) Nature Center (McLean County) (3:00 to 6:00 p.m.) Directions: Going south from Bloomingtonon I-55, take exit 154 to Shirley (Funks Grove). Follow the signs to Funks Grove & the nature center. Aug. 4 (Saturday)-- Trail of Tears State Forest (Union County) (9:00 to 1:00) Directions: Located approximately 7 miles northwest of Jonesboro. Access to the Forest is from Illinois Route 127 (on the east) and Route 3 (from the west) For addition information regarding directions, please call 618.833.4910. Aug. 5 (Sunday) -- Trail of Tears State Forest (Union County) (9:00 to 1:00) Directions: see above Aug. 11 (Saturday)-- New Salem Historic Site (Petersburg) (9:00 to noon) For directions and exact location information, please call 217.632.4000 or go to www.lincolnsnewsalem.com. Aug. 12 (Sunday)-- Pere Marquette State Park (Jersey County) (3:00 to 6:00 p.m.) Directions: Located on Rt 100, 5 miles north of Grafton Illinois, 10 miles south of Rt 16. Aug. 18 (Saturday)-- Siloam Springs State Park (Adams County) (9:00 to noon) Visitors may access the park via Route 104 thru Liberty and follow signs one mile east of Liberty or come south from Clayton off Hwy 24 and follow signs to Siloam Springs State Park. For information on traveling to the nature center, please call 309.686.3360. Sep. 8 (Saturday) -- Hillsboro (Montgomery County) (9:00 to noon) Directions: Travel south from Hillsboro on Route 127 to Shoal Creek Trail. Turn west. Continue on Shoal Creek Trail as it veers left — continue on straight head and watch for signs. |
